Awesome trailer for Edgar Wright’s SCOTT PILGRIM anime series

Netflix has released the first trailer for the producer edgard wright’St Scott Pilgrim takes off anime series and this thing is bursting with electricity! The eight-episode series is based on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series, and Wright’s original live-action film cast is back to voice their characters, which is great!

The trailer highlights Scott Pilgrim’s characters, alt-rock music, retro video game sensibility, and manga style.

Wright spoke previously of the project, saying, “Fortunately, the Scott Pilgrim cast has become a close-knit family and friendships have been forged for life. There is — to this day — there is still an email with the entire cast, which has been going on since 2010. I was happy to be able to reach everyone with the news that we had finally found a way to continue the adventure. Seeing (and hearing) everyone return to their roles was a real Pleasure.”

He continued, “Fans had asked over the years if there would be a sequel to the movie or some other type of continuation. I knew a live-action sequel was unlikely, but I usually put off suggesting that maybe an anime adaptation was a way.” interesting to proceed. And then, coincidentally, Netflix got in touch one day to inquire about this exact idea. But even better, our genius creator Bryan Lee O’Malley came up with a far more adventurous idea than just a simple adaptation of the original books.”

Bryan Lee O’Malley AND BenDavid Grabinski, the author and artist of the graphic novels published from 2004 to 2010, will serve as executive producers, writers and showrunners. Edgar Wright will serve as executive producer while Science SARU will serve as the animation studio with executive producer Eunyoung Choi and director Abel Gongora.

The eight-episode first season of Scott Pilgrim takes off arrives on Netflix on Friday, November 17.
