It looks like THIRTEEN GHOSTS is getting a series adaptation

Dark Castle is reportedly developing a serial adaptation of the horror film Thirteen ghosts. Dread Central brings it back Patrick Mediatus by Primordial Pictures and SFX Supervisor for Fear the walking dead AND Aaron McLane have announced that they are teaming up with Dark Castle to launch the series for Sony Pictures Television.

I’m a big fan of the original 1960’s version 13 ghosts by the director William Castle. I remember seeing that movie as a kid and loving it! There was a remake that was released in 2001 and it was ok. The movie had an amazing cast!

I think a series could be interesting as it will focus on each of the ghost’s backstories. The tone is that the series will be thirteen episodes with an anthological style that dives into a different ghost with each episode. The creators of the show explain it:

“Every culture in the world has its own ghost stories and this retelling of 13 ghosts presents an international sampling of these supernatural tales. The ghost stories within each episode will have their own stylistic aspect that will be explored and influenced by each individual director. This makes our ghost cartoons stand out stylistically as they establish the theme of each episode.

Sounds like it could be a really fun and interesting horror series! I hope Sony Pictures picks it up! What do you think of the idea? Here are the original trailers of the two films.
