SUPERMAN: LEGACY VFX Crew Member Says Script Is Great And Crew Has Previously Worked With James Gunn

A member of the VFX crew for the highly anticipated James Gunndirect DC function Superman: Legacy he’s already singing the film’s praises. A former member of Gunn’s crew, Stefano Cerettiis not only an Oscar-nominated visual effects artist, but has also worked at DC, in Batman and robin AND Batman beginsas well as Marvel, on the other side Thor, Captain America, Ant manAND Doctor Strange franchise, not to mention Avengers: Finale and by Gunn Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. The guy has done it all and has great things to say about the next installment in the Superman franchise.

In a recent interview with ComicBook, Ceretti gave up what little she could about the film, saying:

“I can’t tell you much about Superman. I really can’t. But all I can tell you is that it’s going to be okay. It’s a great script. We’re putting in the effort… We’re a good group. It’s all a good group of people. A lot of people who have worked with James before who he trusts. We’re a great group in terms of being very honest with each other. So we work well in that regard.”

What we know so far about the film is mostly casting news. David Corenswet will star in the film as Clark Kent/Superman; Rachel Brosnahan will play his love interest Lois Lane; Nathan Fillion plays Guy Gardner, aka Green Lantern, Isabella Merced will play Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi is Mister Terrific, e Antonio Carrigan will play the role of a superhero named Metamorpho, whose alter ego is the archaeologist Rex Mason.

Superman: Legacy will launch the film portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. Filming is expected to begin in early 2024, right on track for its currently scheduled theatrical release on July 11, 2025.
