HBO has ordered a new comedy series titled The franchisewhich comes from director Sam Mendes (1917, Fall of the sky, Ghost), Look AND Avenue 5 Creator Armando Iannucciand writer Jon Brown.
The series takes “a tongue-in-cheek look at superhero movie making”. The story centers “on the crew of an unloved film franchise fighting for their place in a wild and unruly cinematic universe. The franchise sheds light on the secret chaos within the superhero movie world, to ask the question: How exactly is movie sausage made? Because every dick has an origin story.
Looks like it’s going to be a fun series! Work on the pilot had already been completed before the SAG-AFTRA strike began, and production on the series will not begin until the strikes are over. Himesh Patel AND Aya Cash protagonist of the show. They are united by Jessica Hynes, Billy Magnussen, Lolly Adefope, Darren Goldstein, Isaac Powell, Richard E. GrantAND Daniel Bruhl.
