First photos and poster for Mike Flanagan’s THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER

Netflix has released a collection of photos and a poster of the writer and director Mike Flanaganthe next series of The fall of the House of Usher.

Many fans are excited about this show as Flanagan has delivered some amazing performances in the past including The Hill House haunt, The haunting of Bly ManorAND Midnight snack.

The series is described as an epic tale of greed, horror and tragedy. Poe’s short story The Fall of the House of Usher, which serves as the basis for the play, features themes of madness, family, isolation, and identity. Edgar Allan Poe’s modern retelling of the story also draws on other works by Poe.

The synopsis for the series reads: “In this villainous 8-episode limited series based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege and power. But secrets of the past come to light when the heirs of the Usher dynasty begin to die at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.

The ensemble cast will include Carl Guigino (Gerald’s game, The Haunting of Hill House), Mary McDonnell (Scream 4), Charles Lumbly (Doctor Sleep), AND Mark Hammill. Bruce Greenwood (Gerald’s game) also plays Roderick Usher.

Carla Gugino told Tudum.com last year during production, “It’s crazy in the best possible way. He’s got a lot of very dark humor, but he’s also really soul touching.

The series also stars Michael Trucco, T’Nia Miller, Paola Nuñez, Henry Thomas, Kyleigh Curran, Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Willa Fitzgerald, Katie Parker, Malcolm Goodwin, Crystal Balint, Aya Furukawa, Daniel Jun, Matt Biedel, Ruth Codd, Annabeth Gish, Igby Rigney AND Robert Longstreet.

Mike Flanagan and Michael Fimognari each directed four episodes of “Usher”. Netflix has announced that the series will premiere on October 12, 2023.
