Netflix has released the first trailer for Adam Sandlerthe upcoming movie So you’re not invited to my bat mitzvah. This is an adult comedy-drama centered around lifelong friends Stacy and Lydia who are planning their dream mitzvahs.
However, after Lydia discovers that Stacy has started dating a boy she has a crush on, the friendship ends and they must deal with their teenage emotions. I have seen this same type of drama unfold with my own teenage girls over the years.
Adam Sandler plays the father of one of the girls and I can definitely relate to what he’s going through as all of this unfolds around him. The looks of confusion on his face are the same looks I got. Idina Menzel he also stars in the film.
The synopsis reads: “Stacy and Lydia are best friends who have always dreamed of having epic bat mitzvahs. But things start to go comically wrong when a popular junior high school drama threatens their friendship and rite of passage.
You’re not so invited to my Bat Mitzvah is an adaptation of Fiona Rosenbloom’s Bildungsroman. It is directed by Sammi Cohen and written by Alison Peck.
The film also stars Jackie Sandler, Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, who I assume are Sandler’s real children,. with Samantha Lorraine, Dylan Hoffman, Sarah Sherman, Dan Bulla, Ido Mosseri, Jackie HoffmanAND Louis Guzman.
The film will premiere on August 25, 2023.
