Peacock has released an awesome full trailer for his highly anticipated John Wick prequel series The Continental. The trailer offers our best look at the story the series will be telling and showcases some of the amazing action sequences to come in the series!
The show is set in the 70s and will offer some background and history about this fascinating world of assassins and the high table. The Continental is planned as a three-episode series with each episode running for 90 minutes.
The story of the series will be told through the eyes and actions of Winston Scott, “who is drawn into the hellish 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he had left behind. Winston plots a deadly path through the mysterious underworld of New York in a harrowing bid to take over the iconic hotel, which serves as a meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals.
Executive producer Basil Iwankyk he previously spoke about the series, saying, “The four Wick movies take place over three months … John is either being chased or being chased. There was no time to catch a breath, to allow the audience to delve deeper into the world and its people.”
He added: “In our show, The Continental, we finally have room to explore these characters, how they came to be who they are, and how The Continental became the epicenter of this world. Combine that with the introduction of new characters who are as compelling as any in the John Wick universe. Crazy and imaginative action. Easter Eggs that will thrill hardcore Wick fans. And what I love most: a vision of 1970s New York that embodies the sensuality, edginess and visceral style that the franchise is known for. This show will look/sound/smell better than any show out there.
The series is the protagonist Colin Woodell as a young Winston Scott; Ayomide Adegunwho will play a young Charon (based on Lance Reddickcharacter of); Peter Greenewearing Uncle Charlie’s fedora (based on the tight-lipped body disposal expert); Mel Gibson like Cormac; Ben Robson as Frankie; Hubert Point-Du Jour like miles; Jessica Allain like Lou; Mishel Prada as KD; AND Nhung Kate like Yen.
The series is written and executive produced by Greg Coolidge (Wayne, ride) AND Kirk Ward (Wayne), who also serve as showrunner. David Leitch, Derek Kolstad, Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, Paul WernickAND Rhett Reese they will also serve as executive producers.
