Three months after the theatrical release of James Gunn’S Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the finale of the Marvel trilogy has finally gotten a streaming date on Disney+. 90 days is a bit of a record these days, as Disney appears to be making a statement since they’ve had plenty of slack during CEO Bob Chapek’s era for running daily theatrical releases on Disney+ during Covid.
Other big releases that followed the long theatrical window include Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Maniawhich had an 89-day theatrical window until it hit its Disney+ debut date on May 17. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever it had an 82-day window after its Nov. 11 theatrical release date before arriving on Disney+ on Feb. 1.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is currently the second highest-grossing film of the year with $842.4 million worldwide after Universal/Illumination’s Super Mario Bros Movie.
Can’t wait to watch the movie at home? Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives on Disney+ on August 2nd.
