Quentin Tarantino does not see KILL BILL: VOL 3 Getting Made

Quentin Tarantino spoke of the possibility of doing Kill Bill Vol. 3 for years, and many fans had hoped that one day he would make it happen, but during a recent interview with DeMorgen, the director said he just doesn’t see that happening. He said, “I don’t see it. My latest film is about a film critic, a male critic. And it sounds in the 70s.

A few years ago, the director said that the sequel is “definitely in the cards” and that it could happen. When previously speaking of Kill Bill Vol. 3the director said, “I wondered what happens to the Bride 10 years later, 15 years later, what happens to her daughter.”

Tarantino also talked a bit about the film and says he wanted to cast Maya Hawke (Stranger things) to play the daughter of the bride, played by the mother in real life, Umma Thurman. She also went on to talk to Thurman about reprising his role several times over the years. He said:

“I think it’s just revisiting the characters twenty years later and imagining the Bride and her daughter, BB, having 20 years of peace, and then that peace is shattered. And now the Bride and BB are on the run and only the idea of being able to launch Uma [Thurman] and chose his daughter Maya [Hawke] that would be fucking exciting.”

Tarantino actually seemed quite excited about the idea of making this sequel at one point. Speaking about the project years ago, the director said:

“I wouldn’t be surprised if The Bride makes one more appearance before all is said and done. I talked a little about it with Uma. Some of the stuff that I wrote that never made it into the film that maybe I could use and think, ‘OK, now, thirteen years later, what would happen with Sofie Fatale, what would happen with Elle Driver?’

The thing that attracts me to the idea – and I wasn’t too attracted to it before because I felt like I said what I had to say, and I liked the idea of Beatrix Kiddo living the rest of her life in peace, to some extent – I think Kill Bill is probably my most visionary film. And I’m not saying how good it is, it’s just a very vision oriented film and I create this world that doesn’t exist. Where on planes, there are holders for your samurai sword (laughs).”

One story idea that many fans have wanted to see played out in a third film centers on the young girl in the brutal kitchen fight scene who takes revenge for The Bride killing her mother, Vernita Green. Vivica A. Fox he said he would like to see Spider-Man star Zendeya assume the role of Vernita Green’s adult daughter.

Now, even if this won’t happen as a movie, there’s still a good chance it could happen as a limited series! He should at least consider it!
