Russel Crowe, who won an Oscar for his role as Maximus in Gladiator, is not asked for a sequel to the movie he’s no longer starring in!

Today, a new cast is preparing to land in the arena. gladiator 2. Paul Mescal (Normal People) will play Lucius, son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen) and nephew of Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix). The cast will include Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things), May Calamawy, Derek Jacobi and Fred Hechinger, alongside the now-important Pedro Pascal.

Gladiator 2 will hit theaters on November 22, 2024.
