Samuel Goldwyn Films has released the trailer for a new WWII thriller film titled Nazi hunters. The story is set shortly after the end of the war in 1945 and 1946. It follows the men of the British ‘War Crimes Investigation Unit’ as they traversed northern Germany in pursuit of Nazi criminals.
One of the members of the unit is Captain Anton Walter Freud, “the nephew of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis. Anton Walter Freud fled to London with his family from the Nazis in 1938. Now an intelligence officer, he has returned to track down killers on Allied wanted lists: pinstripe-clad hitmen, brutal SS henchmen and ruthless doctors who conducted medical experiments even about children,” reads the film’s official synopsis.
It is explained: “Soldiers who witnessed the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp months earlier are not picky about it. Freud, 24, is a free spirit known for his unorthodox methods. He knows how to get war criminals to talk. So he comes across a previously unknown crime, the murder of 20 children in Hamburg in the last days of the war.
The film is directed by Raymond Ley from a script he wrote with Hanna Ley. He is the protagonist Franz Hartwig, Robin Sondermann, Konstantin Lindhorst, Patrick Güldenberg, Peter Sikorski, Nils Hohenhövel, Thomas ArnnoldAND Hanna Ley.
The film is currently available to watch on VOD.
