Director Bryan singer (The usual suspects, X-Men) is attempting to return after all sorts of allegations have been made against the director. He’s been out of the limelight for a while, but is now working on developing three independent films and a documentary about himself.

According to Variety, Singer is seeking funding for three feature films set in and around Israel, where the director has lived for the past two years. One of those movies is said to be set in the 1970s.

Singer has been meeting with several investors to back the films and is looking for a $10 million budget for each film. Those films will be produced by Jason Taylorformer Singer’s Bad Hat production president Harry Prods.

As for the documentary, this is a self-financed film “about himself and his struggles.” It is explained that Singer will face the numerous sexual misdemeanor allegations brought against him. The film will be part of the director’s attempt to return to his career. A source sarcastically said of the doctor, “Well, at least we know it’s going to be fair and balanced.”

The sexual misconduct allegations against Singer began in 1997 on the set of his film Suitable pupil. Two teenagers filed a civil suit claiming they were ordered to strip naked for a scene, and two other young actors made similar allegations in separate civil suits. These were settled for an undisclosed sum of money and he never faced criminal charges.

Over the years things just escalated and more and more stories started coming out about Singer and how much of a nightmare he was for the people who worked with him. A report came out about his time in X-Men explaining that “crises were raging” and that there was drug use, tantrums and a feuding writers. Additionally, one of the film’s actors filed a civil lawsuit after production wrapped, “claiming he was raped by three of Singer’s friends and business associates.” Then there was a moment during filming where the cast of the film threatened to quit. All the while, Fox had Singer’s back. He faced no consequences and, as one producer put it, he “created a monster.”

So, good luck to Singer on his comeback and on that documentary.
