The next installment in the series will once again be written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who previously wrote the scripts for the last two installments. It is not yet known who will direct, but the creator of the franchise, James Wan will produce alongside Peter Safran.
It has also been revealed that Patrick Wilson AND Vera Farmiga will once again reprise their roles as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
At this time, there are no story details to share, but Wan previously said in an interview that this film could conclude on Warren’s story:
“Yes, we are working on it right now. With the Conjuring movies, we’re very valuable [them]. And so we kind of just want to take our time to make sure we get it right and to make sure that the emotion of the Warren stories that we want to tell, and moving, and potentially wrapping up, we just want to make sure that it’s the right thing, the story right what we’re talking about.
But it was recently announced that there was a Conjuring series in development for HBO’s MAX streaming series. The show is said to “continue the story established in the feature films,” but no other details have been shared. I hope The Evocation: Last Rites not the last film in the series! I have so much fun watching these movies!
