Arnold Schwarzenegger Set For Film Return In Action Movie “Breakout” From “Expendables” 4 Director; Anton starts for the Cannes market

EXCLUSIVE: He’s coming back… Screen icon Arnold Schwarzenegger is all set for a movie comeback after a four-year hiatus from action thrillers break outthe financier and distributor Anton introduced before the Cannes market.

expenses 4 Filmmaker Scott Waugh is on board to direct the film, which will star Arnie as Terry Reynolds. When his stepson Daniel is indicted and sentenced to 25 years abroad, Reynolds undertakes a daring prison sentence to save him and must defeat an overzealous prison guard in a race against time to evade capture and save the country.

Filming begins this year in Eastern Europe. Photo is financed and produced by Greenland Outfit Anton and Off The Pier Productions (canary black). Anton handles global distribution while UTA Independent Film Group handles domestic rights.

Richard D’Ovidio wrote the screenplay, based on a story he created with Nicole D’Ovidio. D’Ovidio currently writes for Apple’s original series The Last Frontier which he helped create. He also wrote the screenplay for the thriller The vocation with Hall Berry.

The “big budget project” marks a film return for screen legend Schwarzenegger after the 2019 film Terminator: Dark Fate. Soon he will have Netflix series soccer ballcoming out next month. Kung Fury 2 remains in post-production after filming in 2019 and long-running sequels triplet is still in the works, but was delayed last year after the untimely death of director Ivan Reitman.

Producers are Sebastien Raybaud and John Zois of Anton, Jeff Elliott and Chad Moore of Off The Pier Productions, Oscar nominee Cindy Cowan of Cindy Cowan Entertainment (Very bad things), Carsten Lorenz (Independence Day) and Danny Chan of Almost Never Films (barbarian) Steve Ponce serves as executive producer. Off the Pier Productions and Cindy Cowan Entertainment developed and packaged the project.

Director Scott Waugh comes from the fourth part of the successful series the Expendablesand is known for action films including act of braveryand Dreamworks’ Need speed.
