AS James Gunn continues to reply to fans on Twitter, he confirmed that classic DC character Jimmy Olsen will be part of his next film Superman: Legacy. I think it was safe enough to assume that Olsen would appear in the film since The Daily Planet will be a major setting for the story.

In response to a fan asking if Jimmy Olsen will be in the film, Gunn simply replied Chirping: “ofc”, AKA “obviously”.
Jimmy Olsen is the brave redheaded photojournalist of the DC Universe. He’s always eager to snap a picture of Superman and get the scoop for the Daily Planet. Jimmy is known for his quick thinking and resourcefulness, even when he finds himself in some rather outlandish situations.
Olsen is a faithful friend of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, and is always ready to lend a hand. Additionally, he has a signal watch that allows him to contact Superman whenever he needs a little support. Whether he’s battling insane villains or tracking down a story, Jimmy Olsen always seems up for an adventure.
It will be interesting to see what Gunn has in store for the character, but it would make sense to give him a decent sized role in the story.
Superman: Legacy will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, driven by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
The script for Superman: Legacy has finished and the project has recently entered pre-production with “Costumes, Sets & More now in production.”
