EXCLUSIVE: LBI Entertainment has signed BAFTA-nominated writer, director and producer John Lee Hancock as manager, Deadline has learned.

He is best known for his ability to guide major stars such as Sandra Bullock, Tom Hanks and Michael Keaton to great critical and commercial success with films such as The blind side, Save Mr. Banks And The founderHancock’s directorial titles have grossed nearly $600 million worldwide.

A sports drama written and directed by Hancock that earned Bullock her first Oscar, The blind side adapted the 2006 book of the same name by Michael Lewis, which told the story of Michael Oher, a homeless youth who became an NFL star with the help of the caring family that took him in as their own.

Hancock recently wrote and directed the Netflix horror drama Mr. Harrigan’s phone, starring Donald Sutherland and Jaeden Martell, who adapted Stephen King’s novel of the same name. Before that, he wrote, directed and produced the crime thriller The little thingsstarring Denzel Washington, Rami Malek and Jared Leto, which was released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max by Warner Bros amid the Covid pandemic.

Other credits for the multi-hyphenate include the Netflix crime thriller The highway men, which he directed and produced, starring Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson; the classic Disney baseball drama The beginner with Dennis Quaid, which he directed; and Disney’s Fantasy Picture Snow White and the Huntsmangrossed over $396 million worldwide, which he co-wrote.

There’s also a new AMC series set in the Anne Rice Cinematic Universe for Hancock to write and star in. He remains repped by CAA, Slate PR and Del Shaw Moonves.
