During an episode of The Hot Mic Podcast, entertainment columnist Jeff Sneider reported that Goth will play Lilith Drake in the upcoming film, Daughter of Dracula. That information is not 100% confirmed, but it sure makes sense to me!

In the comics, Lilith has a deep hatred for Dracula because of how she became a vampire. She is in some ways considered the ultimate vampire since she is immune to all of their weaknesses, but she has all of their strengths. Here’s some background on the character for those of you who don’t know him:

Lilith was the daughter of Dracula and a woman named Zofia. This woman was Dracula’s first wife, while Dracula was still a human hundreds of years ago, but the two were brought together by an arranged marriage by Dracula’s late father and Dracula grew to resent and even hate Zofia. From the marriage a girl was born: Lilith. While she was still a child, Dracula had her watch a group of impaled prisoners. He treated his daughter harshly and when he was married for the year required by their social custom, he told both Lilith and her mother to take their things and leave him. They complied and left. Lilith was given to a woman named Gretchin – who was a gypsy – while Zofia roamed the Earth and eventually committed suicide so she wouldn’t have to live like a farmer. Lilith started to hate and despise her father. After becoming a vampire, her father started attacking gypsy villages and killed the gypsy’s son who took Lilith as his. As a means of revenge, Gretchin used her powerful gypsy magic to turn Lilith into a vampire-like being as well, but because he felt that Lilith was her child, he made her immune to most vampire foibles. Lilith on her hand promised Gretchin that she would cause trouble for her father for all eternity.

Yann Demange is set to direct the film, with Michael Starbury on board to write the latest version of the script and the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige it is producing.

What do you think about the possibility that Goth could take on the role of Lilith Drake?
