

Marvel Studios reveals new Skrull mission in ‘Secret Invasion’ – Disney (Marvel Studios)
The Skrulls are a fictional alien race appearing in Marvel Comics comics and Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films produced by Marvel Studios, and will return in June 2023 with the series premiere. “Secret Invasion” with Emilia Clarke as one of the main characters, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, now without an eye patch.
In the comics, the Skrulls are a race of metamorphic beings able to change shape and appearance to mimic other living beings, allowing them to infiltrate societies and organizations to achieve their goals. They are known for their ability to mimic humans and their long-standing conflict with the Kree, another alien race. With the new Marvel series photo preview, fans are wondering what the Skrulls’ new mission is and why they have invaded Earth.
In the MCU, The Skrulls first appear in the film “Captain Marvel” (2019), where it is revealed that they have been infiltrating Earth for decades, secretly working with Air Force agent Carol Danvers (aka Captain Marvel) (Brie Larson) to protect the universe from a greater threat. . They also appear in the Disney+ series “Loki” (2021) and the movie “Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

The Skrulls are tired of their relationship with humans.
Months before the premiere of ‘Secret Invasion’, the details of the plot of the series, the reasons for the alien invasion and the reasons that led the Skrulls to invade Earth. The plot will revolve around the Skrulls invading Earth, an issue that poses a huge threat to Fury and his career as a spy, especially considering that the Skrulls were friends with the SHIELD leader.
In a recent interview with Vanity FairSamuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury, explained why the Skrulls are no longer satisfied with their relationship with humans. For decades, Fury has been their ally, providing them with a home on Earth. However, for some Skrulls, things haven’t changed enough regarding their rights and their way of inhabiting our planet.
In Secret Invasion, the Skrulls led by Emilia Clarke’s character, tired of waiting for a change, they will start some kind of revolution. Clarke explained, “These people (humans) promised a lot of things a long time ago, and not much has happened. So, understandably, there’s been a certain amount of resentment built up.”

Nick Fury had a Skrull spy ring, but apparently he didn’t keep his promises. According to Jackson, the Skrulls want to live in their skin and they don’t want to live in ours. Therefore, they started this revolution and Fury will face the dilemma of not calling the Avengers to stop them.
Jackson detailed, “What he’s not doing is calling his super friends. It’s part of the whole dilemma… I mean, people want them and he doesn’t bring them.”
Viewers will have to wait to find out why Fury won’t turn on his super-powered companions and how he’ll face this threat on his own. “Secret Invasion” promises to be an exciting series that will explore the limits of loyalty and trust in the MCU, in its upcoming premiere for Disney Plus on June 21, 2023.
