Andy Serkis Says KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Will ‘Amaze People’

Andy Serkisthe actor who played Caesar in the movies Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the ApesAND War for the Planet of the Apesrecently advertised the next film in the series, Kingdom of the planet of the ages.

Serkis was fantastic as Caesar, and while he wasn’t directly involved with the upcoming film, he had some thoughts to share about the film and what it will offer. He recently shared in an interview with CinemaBlend that the film will “blow people’s minds.”

His character died at the end of War for the Planet of the Apes, so his arc is over, but Serkis has been kept abreast of what’s going on. He said:

“I think [director] Wes Ball he’s going to do an amazing job with this film. I think it’s, from what I’ve heard and what I’ve seen, there’s some amazing conceptual artwork. And where they’ve chosen to land the story and take off with the next iteration, I think it’s going to blow people away.”

This film is said to begin “a whole new chapter in the Planet of the Apes saga, which picks up many years after the conclusion of 2017 War for the Planet of the Apes.”

In the story, “Many ape societies have grown since the Moses-like Caesar took his people to an oasis, while humans have been reduced to a savage existence. Some groups have never heard of Caesar, while others they have twisted his teaching to build thriving empires.In this setting, a monkey leader begins to enslave other groups to find human technology, while another monkey, who witnessed the capture of his clan, embarks on a journey in search of freedom A young human woman holds the key to the latter’s quest, even as she has plans of her own.”

The cast includes Owen Teague (It), Freya Allen (The witcher), AND Peter Macone (The Orville). The script of the film comes from Josh Friedmann (War of the Worlds), Rick Jaffa AND Amanda Silver (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), AND Patrick Aison (Prey). She also co-stars Travis Jeffery (Uninterrupted), Neil Sandland (Sweetness), Sarah Wiseman (One of us is lying), Ras-Samuel Welda’abzgi (The clearing), Lydia Peckham (Cowboy bebop), AND Kevin Durand.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes it currently has a release date of May 24, 2024.
