Netflix has shared a few posters of its upcoming adaptation by the comic writer Marco Millar’S American Jesuswhich is called The chosen one OR El Elegido in Spanish.

The series set in Baja California, Mexico follows a 12-year-old character named Jodie, who discovers she is the reincarnated Jesus and must prepare for the Apocalypse.
The series is the protagonist Tenoch Huertawho plays Namor Black Panther: Wakenda foreverand will act alongside her Diana Agron (Joy) and a young cast of actors.
Millar shared a note with the poster, saying, “Transfer American Jesus to Mexico makes the mythological much more authentic and the apocalyptic even more real.
The synopsis reads:
Jodie, a 12-year-old from Baja California, suddenly discovers he has Jesus-like powers: he can turn water into wine, make the lame walk, and maybe even raise the dead! As evangelical and Yaquí leaders in town try to convince him to use his powers to save humanity, all Jodie wants to do is impress the girl he likes and stand up to her bullies. As Jodie struggles and finally comes to terms with his fate, everything falls apart when he realizes it discovers the truth about his identity.
