The running time of the film is two hours and 29 minutes, and in response to that Gunn explained that not a second is wasted in the film:

“It’s so long, even if it’s not quite right yet. And, I promise, not a second is wasted. There is no fat. It was necessary to experience the entire story arc of all the major Guardians characters, not only for this film, but also for the trilogy (or, should I say, trilogy plus).

The whole “trilogy plus” commentary also threw fans into loops and many assumed it meant more movies were on the way. But he clarified that the “plus” included projects such as Holiday Special and Game over. Thus, this third film in the series will close the story that he had decided to tell with these characters.

At Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, “Our beloved band of misfits are settling into Knowhere, but it’s not long before their lives are upended by echoes from Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a perilous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission which, if not successfully completed, could lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them. “

Gunn has previously talked about Rocket and how that character is the reason he returned to make this third film. He explained:

“One of the reasons I came back to [make] this film was because I felt I had to tell the story of Rocket. I would have really regretted not completing the trilogy for many reasons, but I feel very connected to Rocket. I feel like no one would be able to tell the full story about him if it weren’t me.

“To me, Rocket has always been the secret protagonist of the Guardians movies. From the beginning, it’s been ingrained in who he is as a character. I think he exemplifies a lot of the traits of all Guardians. They’ve had all these traumas, and it brings them together. .I just think his is more extreme than others.

“He was totally fine being an animal, and he was transformed into something else he didn’t want to be. I think the transformation itself was extremely painful, but I also think it made him feel incredibly alienated from everyone else. In vol. 3, we learn a lot about his past: where he’s from, who he is and what he’s been through. It’s been a rough road for the little animal.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt like Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana like Gamora, Dave Bautista like Drax, Karen Gillan like Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin/Rocket on set, Afternoon Clementeff like mantis, Bradley Cooper such as Rocket, and Vin Diesel like Groot. There are also new additions to the cast Will Poult such as Adam Warlock e Chukwudi Iwuji such as the High Evolutionary as well as Daniela Melchior, Nico SantoAND Borat next movie‘S Maria Bakalova like Cosmo the space dog.

Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be released in US theaters on May 5.
