Liam Neeson reveals why he turned down the James Bond role before it went to Pierce Brosnan

As the search for the next 007 continues, Liam Neeson reveals the role of James Bond was once up for grabs – except his partner had other ideas.

After the success of Schindler’s List in which he played the title role, Neeson’s star was high in the early 1990s and the James Bond crowd rang the bell.

Neeson said The Time of London that he expressed great interest in the role, until his girlfriend at the time, actress Natasha Richardson, stepped in, suspicious of what Neeson called the “beautiful girls” who went in and out of different countries. [Bond’s] Bed.”
