With 4 Oscars, ‘All Quiet on the Front’ conquers Netflix again – Special (Netflix)
It was mid-2022 when Netflix had its international premiere ‘No News On The Front’, a very interesting film inspired by a storyline that was created almost 100 years ago, a production that achieved great success during its week of opening, which has been renewed this March because this film recently became the most successful film on this platform at the 2023 Oscars.
If you are a film buff, you surely know that the Oscars 2023 took place just last Sunday, March 12, a ceremony where ‘No news at the front’ won four statuettes, among which the one won for Best Foreign Film undoubtedly stands out, also becoming the first German film to obtain this recognition from the Hollywood Academy.
After the announcement of the result of the Oscars 2023, “No news at the front’ was again placed in the top 10 most watched movies on Netflix in different countries of the world, generating millions of viewing hours on this service in just a few days, which adds to the viewing figures achieved since September 2022, when this title was released.

This Netflix original film made in Germany is taken from the book of the same name released in 1929, a time when there were still those who glorified war in some way, however this story showed the raw devastation left by a conflict like the one experienced in the First World War, changing the perception of these conflicts forever.
As, ‘No news at the front’ It’s actually an anti-war story.a production that has returned to success on Netflix with a story centered around a young German soldier who wants to go to war, but quickly discovers the havoc it generates, a title that shows the First World War from the side of Germany, something unusual considering that it is one of the losing countries in this international conflict.
Netflix is denied Best Picture at the Oscars
It is noteworthy what has been accomplished by ‘No news at the front’ at the Oscars 2023because it is a title that has arrived at the streaming giant without making much noise, since during 2022 there have been productions that have received much more publicity than this production, however, as we have indicated, it has become the most successful film at the Academy Awards by this year for this streaming service.
Anyway, Netflix I had hopes of first getting the hard-fought Best Picture category at the Oscars with this production, as it was one of the strong candidates to win this award, however, the same thing happened with ‘Roma’, a film that has also won was awarded as best foreign film but could not get the mentioned category.
