In 2022, Star Trek Director and producer Abrams shared, “We are thrilled to say that we are hard at work on a new film Star Trek movies that we will be shooting later this year that will feature our original cast and some new characters that I think will be really fun and exciting and help take Star Trek in areas you’ve never seen before.

Matt Shakman (Wanda Vision) was supposed to direct the film, but ended up dropping out to develop Marvel’s Fantastic Four. Star Trek 4 it was then removed from Paramount’s release schedule. Hence, the film did not go into production by the end of 2022.

In a recent interview with Esquire, Chris Pino he talked about his career and the type of roles he takes on. You also talked about Star Trek 4 and said he hasn’t heard of the project yet. She shared that “In Star Trek earth, actors are usually the last people to find out about something. Pine says the way this all works is “frustrating,” but that’s just the way things are with these big franchises.

Esquire then followed up with Abrams on the film and offered an update. He said he still hasn’t found a new director for the film, but added that “it’s the first time [since the original reboot] that we have a story that feels as compelling as the first one.

Well, it’s nice to know that they have a story that they are excited to tell. It would be really cool to see an addictive Star Trek the movie again. I’m sure someday Star Trek the film will be released, but who knows when that will happen? While we wait, there’s a lot of great stuff going on Star Trek content to find on Paramount+!

As for what Pine thinks of the franchise, he said, “I love the character. I love people. I love the franchise.
