Hellraiser star Douglas Bradley has joined the cast of The CW’s upcoming DC series Knights of Gotham. He will appear in episode 6 and play DC villain Joe Chill.
Joe Chill is the criminal who killed Bruce Wayne’s parents and “after fifty years of rot on death row, Joe Chill should be executed. But Gotham’s infamous ‘patron saint of villains’ isn’t about to let his secrets die with him.
Series producers Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux AND Natalie Abrams said in a statement: “When casting the iconic role of Joe Chill, arguably the man who created Batman, there was only one name we considered: Doug Bradley. We needed an actor with the kind of gravity that would do justice to such a seminal character in DC Comics canon.And who better than the man to embody the role of the classic Gotham demon than the man whose legendary portrayal of another classic demon – Pinhead in the Hellraiser franchise – continues to terrorize generations of horror fans?”
In the series, “In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his wayward adopted son forms an unlikely alliance with the sons of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their name. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city plunges into the most dangerous it has ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected places as this team of mismatched escapees will become his next generation of saviors.
The series is the protagonist Oscar Morgan as Turner Hayes, Anna Lore as Stephanie Brown, Olivia Rose Keegan as Duela Dent, Navia Robinson as Carrie Kelley, Fallon Smith as Harper Row, Tyler DiChiara such as Cullen Row, e Misha Collins as Harvey Dent.
Knights of Gotham is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions. Chad Fiveash, James StoterauxAND Natalie Abrams are writing the series with Fiveash and Stoteraux also serving as executive producers Greg Berlanti, Sarah SchechterAND David Madden. JJ Abrams will serve as co-executive producer.
Knights of Gotham will premiere on March 14.
