In late 2021, the sixth season of The CW’s teen series, ‘Riverdale’ premiered. This season it ended with an unexpected change which left us needing to watch more episodes and find out what was going on. Thankfully, and after just over a year of waiting, the trailer for the final season has arrived.
To contextualize a bit, we recall that the last episode of the sixth season showed us how Bailey’s comet, sent by Percival Pickens, the antagonist, would have hit the earth before the group of friends – who now look like superheroes – put their powers and Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch), the most powerful, to stop him and save everyone’s lives. The twist comes now, when it turns out that there was a time jump and Archie (KJ Apa) and his friends are teenagers again, but in 1955. The chapter ends by showing that Jughead (Cole Sprouse) is the only one who remembers what happened, while the others think it’s just another day in their normal life.
In the trailer we can see how Jughead will try to convince his friends of what happened and how they will respond by calling him crazy and insisting on having fun: They are young, they are in high school, they have a peaceful life without worries, if it were true that they have returned to the past. Why would they want to leave? Furthermore, and as expected in the case of “Riverdale”, Blood and suspense could not be missing, and it seems that Archie will take care of itor so we see it in the trailer in a scene where we see him lying on a table begging for his life as a blade approaches him.
Let’s go back to teenage romance
Which The most striking thing about the trailer is what can be seen of the new lives of the characters and the new novels: On the one hand, Verónica (Camila Mendes) has become a Hollywood star, Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Kevin (Casey Cott) seem to like each other and they start to be a couple, Toni (Vanessa Morgan) dances and seduces Cheryl, but she falls is about to marry Archie, and finally Jughead is seen kissing Veronica… Just when it seemed that the group’s adult life had stabilized and their love life had become clear, a comet arrives and takes them back in time and as if shakes a lot of marbles, turns everything that was settled upside down.
The seventh season of ‘Riverdale’ it will soon be premiered on Movistar Plus+.
