It is very surprising how the horror genre produces such unpleasant, so tolerable images, stories, moments and creatures that many enjoy this type of plot. However, there are some movies that cross that line and become so terrifying that it’s very difficult for anyone to dare to see them a second time, even when they already know what’s going on.

And you know that horror movie is scary when you don’t dare to watch it a second time, either for different reasons, for the blood on the screen, or because what you are seeing is so unbearable that it is impossible for you to see it again, not even in the sunlight and with 30 people by your side. Without further ado, these are the tapes you shouldn’t watch more than once.

Goodnight Mom

To begin with, even though the bar is already very high, we have 2014’s ‘Goodnight Mommy’. a horror film that few would dare to see a second time, due to its slow but eerie pace. It is about a mother who returns one night covered in bandages in the fall after a facial reconstruction, but her children do not recognize her. Available on Amazon Prime Video.

The Innocents

From studio A24, we have ‘The Innocents’, a attention-grabbing horror movie of those who have been able to see it in various festivals. It’s a movie with a very simple premise, kids with powers don’t use them in the best way though, and instead are dedicated to creating acts worthy of a horror story.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Though many believe it to be a well-traveled story that hasn’t stood the test of time, Tobe Hooper’s ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ is such an extreme horror film that few would dare to see it twice. It’s about a group of young people who come across a ruthless family and the leather-masked killer, who won’t stop until he hunts them all down. Available on Amazon Prime Video.

Dead Evil (2013)

No one doubts what Sam Raimi achieved with his horror and comedy trilogy, however it was Fede Álvarez who brought the story of “Evil Dead” to modernity, without losing the extreme brutality of the plot. It’s about a group of young people who want to spend a weekend in a cabin, where they find an old book that summons a demon to make them spend the worst of their days. Available on HBO Max.

And finally, one of the best horror movies released in 2022, “Speak no Evil”, and also one of the most unbearable to watch. The story follows a Danish family invited to a Dutch family’s home, who become friends during a holiday and whose kindness soon turns dangerous.
