BOOM Studios e Daniel Da Kim3AD has announced that it is developing a television series for Amazon Studios based on the 2015 graphic novel Butterfly. The spy thriller came from the team of Arash Amel, Margaret Bennett, Antonio FusoAND Stephen Simon. The series already has Kim starring in addition to his role as executive producer and Ken Woodruff (Gotham) will co-write and co-create the adaptation with the novelist Step Cha (Your home will pay). The series hopes to begin filming this fall and will be the first Amazon Original production to film in South Korea.

BUTTERFLY is a character-driven spy thriller that explores complex family dynamics within the treacherous world of global espionage. It centers on David Jung, an enigmatic and highly unpredictable former US intelligence agent living in South Korea, whose life is torn apart when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him, and he finds himself pursued by Rebecca, a deadly young sociopathic agent tasked with killing him.
