THE Fast & Furious the franchise has seen many major A-list actors appear in their own films over the years. Charlize Theron, Elena Mirren, Dwayne Johnson, Kurt Russell, Rita Moreno, Jason Momoa, and more have appeared in the franchise! Now, Vin Diesel has his sights set on yet another super popular actor…Robert Downey Jr.!
When asked about his dream casting at the recent Fast X trailer premiere, Diesel, who plays Dom Toretto, dropped Downey Jr.’s name as an actor he would like to have in the next Fast and Furious movie. He even teased the character he wanted him to play and described the character as “the antithesis of Dom”. He explained:
“Without telling you too much about what’s going to happen next, there’s a character who’s the antithesis of Dom who’s promoting AI and driverless cars and a philosophy that goes with your freedom. There are some who believe this is the future, and this is in direct contrast to Toretto’s mentality.”
Diesel was then asked if he had actually spoken to Downey Jr. about the role and he growled and jokingly said, “How dare you ask me that question in front of all these people? I have pride and I have dignity.”
Michelle Rodriguez it was also asked who she would like to see in the final Fast & Furious movie and she fell Matt Damonthe name of. She said:
“Who’s the guy in these amazing Jason Bourne movies? Matt Damon! I fucking want Matt Damon. Matt Damon, would you be in a Fast and Furious movie? Come on, we got four Academy Awards, man. And you are an Oscar winner!
It will be interesting to see if Diesel ends up landing Downey Jr. or Matt Damon. I have no doubt Diesel will make a valiant effort.
Louis Letterier he is directing Fast Xhaving replaced Justin Lin after jumping out of the project. The screenplay of the film came from Lin e Dan MazeauAnd while we don’t have any plot details to share about the 10th film, we know for a fact that it’s going to offer insane and ridiculous action!
The cast of Fast X also includes Tirese Gibson, Brie Larson, Alan Ritchson, Emanuel Natalie, Michael Rocker, Jordan Brewster, Daniela Melchior, Ludacri, Scott Eastwood, AND Cardi B. This too is rumored Gal Gadot will appear in the film, but this is yet to be confirmed.
Fast X will hit theaters on May 19, 2023.
