A short video was released long before the first one Black Panther the movie was made. Chadwick Boseman he was already secured in the role of King T’Challa/Black Panther, but the filmmakers were still auditioning and trying to find the perfect little sister, Shuri. Letizia Wright he ended up with the role, cast perfectly, but there was also an actress in the running for the part Dominique Thorne.

She didn’t get the part of Shuri, but she had such a good audition that the powers that be at Marvel remembered her, and she got the part of Riri Williams/Ironheart, which we first saw in the film. Last year. Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverand we will see later this year in his series, Iron heart. She will also continue to play the role in Avengers: Secret Wars in 2026.
