There was a little piece of news about that announcement that no one else really picked up on, because it hadn’t been officially announced, and that included the possible involvement of Logano And Ford versus Ferrari director James Mangold. We’ve included that bit of news in our roundup of DC projects, and now Mangold himself is teasing his involvement!
The director recently shared a page from Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson’s run Swamp thing. It shows Swamp Thing standing in the swamp with the setting sun in the background. It’s a beautiful piece of comic and comes with the caption:
“As one, who walks on a lonely road in fear and dread… and when he turns, he walks on… and turns his head no more… for he knows that a terrible fiend is approaching behind him. “
Gunn said of the film project: “And then, the last film we want to mention is Swamp Thing. Because we want to emphasize that these stories, although they are interconnected, are not all totally the same. So each filmmaking group brings their own aesthetic to these films. And the fun is to see how these totally different works come together in the future. Then investigate the dark origins of the swamp thing So totally very different from Superman or Batman or Robin etc. This character will also interact with major DC characters.
Mangold is a great director and Swamp thing it’s a great DC film project for him to tackle. As I said yesterday, with Mangold at the helm there’s a good chance Swamp thing it will be a good movie!
