Brillstein Entertainment Partners Discover Sales; Casey Wasserman in pole position: the saucer

EXCLUSIVE: Brillstein Entertainment Partners is considering a sale of its traditional management/production company. Several are swirling, but sources say Casey Wasserman has emerged as a front-runner to bring BEP on board along with its impressive sports and music divisions.

Like any potential deal, this one could fall apart and the BEP directors could choose to remain independent. It would be management’s latest move after 3Arts struck a deal with Lionsgate and Anonymous Content, with an investment from Laurene Powell Jobs, who was recently linked to Automatic.

If it were to happen, it would evoke the legacy and memory of some iconic Hollywood figures. Start with Wasserman, grandson of Hollywood legend Lew Wasserman. He has always resisted the urge to break into mainstream Hollywood, instead building an impressive management company specializing in sports and music, the latter of which most recently included the acquisition of Paradigm’s lucrative music touring companies. His company just signed a strategic investment agreement with Providence Equity Partners for growth initiatives.

Founded by management legend Bernie Brillstein, Brillstein Entertainment Partners was bolstered by his partnership with Brad Gray before taking the reins at Paramount. BEP is a powerful executive production company whose clients include Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner & Jeremy Kleiner’s Plan B, Bill Maher, Oscar nominee Brendan Fraser, Florence Pugh, yellowstoneCole Hauser and Adam Sandler among others,

The management company’s longtime TV clients include Kaley Cuoco, Rob Lowe and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Famous for the production The sopranos via Brad Gray Television, BEP’s recent production credits include Disney+ The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers and that of Apple TV+ Central Park. The company has ramped up its TV development/production efforts through Brillstein Content Partners and recently hired former Netflix and Made Up Stories director Allie Goss.

Also interesting is the idea of an Aquarius popping up in mainstream entertainment as writers guild talk flares up. Wasserman led the successful effort to bring the 2028 Summer Olympics to Los Angeles.

Wasserman’s spokesman declined to comment, as did BEP. Stay tuned.
