‘Ballerina’: Keanu Reeves talks about his role in this spin-off of ‘John Wick’ and congratulates Ana de Armas

“Keanu is Keanu, it’s incredible,” Ana de Armas said recently, speaking of their work on “Ballerina,” a spin-off of the “John Wick” saga. Now Keanu Reeves returns the compliment by providing the occasional detail of her participation in said film, a very brief role which, judging by the experience of said actress, is tremendously intense.

‘Ballerina’: Keanu Reeves talks about his role in this spin-off of ‘John Wick’ and congratulates Ana de Armas

“We’ve been shooting in Prague for four months and we still have another month of work there,” De Armas said early last month. “I’m broken. It hurts all over and I’m moaning, because I’m in pain. ‘James Bond’ was 15 minutes long and this is a whole movie that’s on another level. The other day Keanu and I were rehearsing a very difficult movie action scene, and this man is giving it his all and throwing me in crazy choreography. So I thought I can’t keep complaining because he goes the extra mile and never complains. He really is the best.” The actress couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the scene she shares with Reeves, a brief appearance which, together with that of Ian McShane, will mark the link between this new film in the franchise and the films that make up the main body of the saga.

Now Reeves, in conversation with Total Film, returns the compliment to his co-star, assuring that despite having only worked “briefly” with her, he was able to verify firsthand that the action is excellent. “It’s a great story. Len Wiseman [director de la película] he has a vision, but he also embraces the world of ‘John Wick’ with love. Ian McShane will also appear as Winston.” On his cameo, he explains that it seems like a great way to take over, noting how ‘fun’ it was to get back into the costume.’ There’s a reason why [John] I’m in “Ballerina” and it’s all very organic. Ana has been amazing to work with. She really loves action and she’s very good at it.”

The next? chapter 4

‘Ballerina’, a spin-off film of the saga, and ‘The Continental’, a prequel series that we will see soon, do not yet have a release date, before the arrival of ‘John Wick 4’. On March 24, the fourth chapter of the saga opens only in theaters, a delivery that, as Reeves himself promised, arrives with “More action than any previous ‘John Wick’ movie, which says a lot. And when I say more, I mean a lot more. It’s one hell of a show”. As for the possibility of a fifth installment, the actor stresses that it is not something taken for granted, assuring that it depends on the audience. “We have to wait and see how the audience responds. I hope they like it”.
