DC Studios just shared its upcoming slate of movies and TV shows to be developed under the direction of James Gunn And Peter Safran. It’s quite a list, but there’s one more movie DC fans have been excited about that is separate from the one Gunn and Safran are working on. That project is the sequel to Matt Reeves’ The Batmanwhich is now officially titled Batman – Part II.
During the big DC Studios event, it was announced that Batman – Part II will be released in theaters on October 3, 2025. It’s a long way to go, but it’s coming!
Gunn and Safran shared their excitement about Reeves’ work on the BatVerse and confirmed that the world he’s building is part of DC Studios’ non-DCU “Elseworlds” line. They also seemed to hint that Reeves could direct a third film in the franchise to complete a trilogy, which isn’t surprising. Gunn said:
“Matt is working on Batman 2, which he thinks is a Batman detective saga, which also includes the Penguin TV series. And it’s its own thing, and he’s been working really hard on it. interesting the other day. Our plan is for you to continue.
Safran later confirmed that the film is still under the umbrella of DC Studios, even if it’s not part of the main franchise. He added: “We are fully invested in the success of The Batmanjust like we are everything else.
