‘The Flash’ has had many setbacks along its way, endangering its shooting and its premiere with the huge controversies its main star, Ezra Miller, has been involved in, but now It appears that the adaptation of the ‘Flashpoint’ comic will go ahead without any new complications until its premiere on June 23rd.

According to Variety, Peter Safran, co-chairman and co-CEO of DC, assures it “Ezra is fully committed to his recovery” and show your support “for the road you are on right now”. Miller claimed that his erratic and annoying behavior was due to “complex mental problems” and underwent the treatment as soon as filming wrapped. She hasn’t made headlines since then, so she might actually be on the right track.
It seems that the DC executives are confident in their path of improvement and despite everything they have not canceled future projects. “When the time comes, when [Ezra Miller] you feel that you are ready to talk about it, we will see what is the best way forward. But right now, her focus is completely on healing her. And in our conversations over the last couple of months, it seems like it’s making tremendous progress.”.
For his part, Gunn seems more than pleased and confident with the film’s outcome: “‘The Flash’ is probably one of the best superhero movies ever made”.
The future in DC for controversial actors
While Ezra Miller didn’t give studio execs any further concerns, Zachary Levi did. The lead actor of ‘Shazam! Wrath of the Gods, another of the DC Universe films that will be released soon, was the subject of controversy in the networks when he commented on his enormous distrust of the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, which led to countless criticisms calling him a “anti-vaccine”. However, neither Gunn nor Safran seems interested in paying too much attention to the hustle and bustle. “The actors and filmmakers I work with will say things they agree with and things they disagree with”says Gunn (via Variety), who insists it’s inevitable. “I can’t keep changing my plans because an actor says something I don’t agree with”. On the other hand, Safrán commented that the two films mentioned and the other two that will be released this year, ‘Blue Beetle’ and ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’, are “great”so in your opinion “There’s no reason why none of the characters and the actors who play them aren’t part of the DC Universe. There’s nothing against that happening”.
‘Shazam! The fury of the gods will hit our theaters on March 17 and three months later, on June 23, ‘The Flash’, which in the words of James Gunn, “restart all”.
