Terrence Malick has crafted his own moving and beautiful story, based on the novel by James Jones, ‘The Thin Red Line’. The story follows a group of riflemen sent to the Pacific to take the place of exhausted soldiers in the battle against the Japanese in World War II, and shows the fear and fragility of man in difficult times. Finally, there is the latest work from acclaimed director Sam Mendes, with outstanding cinematography by Academy Award winner Roger Deakins, ‘1917’.
