‘The Boogeyman’ is the new film adaptation of another of Stephen King’s terrifying tales. The film is directed by Rob Savage (“Dashcam”) and written by writing duo Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (“A Quiet Place”) and Mark Heyman (“Black Swan”), with an original idea, yes, from the story published by King in 1978.
This 20th Century Studios and 21 Laps production takes its first steps off the set by releasing the first official trailer and poster, which can be found on its world premiere on June 2 of this same year.
The film will tell the story of the entire Harper family as they rebuild after a devastating event that leaves her husband and their two daughters facing life in a way they have never experienced before. Everyone will be rowing for healing, oblivion, cure… all but one.

As for the cast Sophie Thatcher (Natalie in ‘Yellowjackets’) will star in the film with Vivien Lyra Blair, actress who played Princess Leia in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’, and Chris Messina (‘Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn)’), who will play the missing father. Marin Ireland (“The Umbrella Academy”), Madison Hu (“The Goldbergs”), Lisa Gay Hamilton (“The Soloist”) and David Dastmalchian (“Dune”) will also star in the film.
What will ‘The Boogeyman’ be about?
“The Boogeyman” is, as has already been said, another of King’s terrifying stories. The Harper family has lost her matriarch and with her all the stability of the family. Sadie and her little sister Sawyer find themselves in a position to deal with this loss in an almost self-taught way, without a shoulder to lean on. Her father, Will, has a degree in psychology, but far from being an asset, there’s nothing less practical than a deeply tormented psychologist. Such is Will’s pain that there comes a time when therapies shift to his selfish advantage, fueling the suffering of those who come to his aid to feed the emptiness he feels due to his wife’s death.
