The Automobile Racing Club of America, ARCA, announces new driver to compete in NASCAR, e it is none other than Frankie Muniz. The actor, who has only played sporadic roles in occasional television series since 2011, is retiring from acting compete full-time.

For those unfamiliar with this type of motorsport, NASCAR is the most famous competition in the United States, where cars they are very different those of other competitions such as Formula 1 or IndyCar. “More traditional” supercars race in NASCAR, with 8V engines that reach 250km/h against the 378km/h that a Formula 1 single-seater reaches.
Through a post on Instagram and Twitter, Muniz announces his definitive arrival in the world of engines, to which he has always been very attached and with great passion. However, as he tells NASCAR.com, he didn’t know the way forward to becoming a motorsport pro: “I didn’t really know how to become a racing driver […] It’s like saying you want to be an astronaut or something. For me it’s a work of fantasy.” Anticipating possible negative comments that could follow with respect to his theatrical provenance, Muniz clarifies: “I know people can have negative expectations of what I can do […] I’m ready to prove them wrong.”

It’s not the first time we’ve seen the youthful film star behind the wheel of a four-wheeler. Muniz was already racing in some less demanding competition. Now Muniz will drive Ford model No. 30 adapted, yes, to NASCAR.
Furthermore, we could see him in two of the editions of the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race that took place annually until 2016, where different personalities met to compete in the race in Long Beach, California. Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman or Caitlyn Jenner are some of the celebrities who participated in the said race.

The actor signs with the Rette Jones Racing team for the 2023 season. Crew chief Jones shares his delight at the actor’s addition, passionately saying: Hard work awaits you: “It won’t be easy, there will be a learning curve.
