Lionsgate has released a new trailer for Gerard Butler And Mike Colterthe upcoming action thriller Airplane, which sees the two trapped in a war zone and intent on rescuing the passengers of a plane forced to land during a dangerous storm. It looks like this movie will be full of ridiculous action movie fun, which is par for the course for Butler.

In the “chilling action film,” pilot Brodie Torrance (Butler) “rescues his passengers from a lightning strike by making a risky landing on a war-torn island, only to find that surviving the landing was only the beginning. When most of the passengers are taken hostage by dangerous rebels, the only person Torrance can count on for help is Louis Gaspar (Colter), an accused murderer who had been transported by the FBI. To save the passengers, Torrance will need the help of Gaspar and will learn that there is much more to Gaspar than meets the eye.

The rest of the ensemble cast includes Yoson An, Paul Ben Victor, Daniella Pineta, Remi Adeleke, Joey Slotnick, Evan Dan Taylor, Claro de los ReyesAnd Tony Goldwin.

Airplane is directed by the French director Jean-Francois Richet (Assault on District 13), and will arrive in national cinemas starting January 13, 2023.
