Let the speculation begin! James Gunn recently shared a photo on Twitter showing a cheese platter. But, of course, fans would wonder why Gunn would share a photo of just a plate of cheese, so they started looking for background clues that might hint at some upcoming DC Studios movie projects because that’s just what fans do when they have too. free time in their hands!
While the cheese platter is certainly impressive, one fan spotted a stack of books on a table in the background. One fan believes they were planted there and asked if anyone could figure out what the books might be. So someone shared a possible answer with a picture of a stack of Batman Omnibus books by the writer Grant Morrison.
So, now social media and the internet are going wild over the possibility that James Gunn is teasing that the Batman movie being developed for DC Studios will be inspired by the stories of Grant Morrison. Check out the series of tweets below:

There’s a big chance all three are Morrison omnis, and the lens blur is making the yellow back less noticeable. As for the other books, they don’t look like standard tpb size. Aether may not be connected or maybe a DC history book we’re sticking to possible DC stuff pic.twitter.com/EurDcg2RQR

A fan previously asked Gunn if Batman would play a role in the DC Universe and the said the director which “is a big part of the DCU”. So, we know a new version of Batman is definitely on the way, we just don’t know what it’s going to be like exactly. But if Morrison’s stories are indeed going to serve as inspiration for the next Batman movie, that would be great!
But, James Gunn replied to the tweet, confirming those are the books, but says he wasn’t hinting at anything. He said, “Yeah, that’s what they were. No, they weren’t meant as a tip. Two of the volumes (2 and 3) happened to be on my coffee table. Yes, I have read them a lot and I love them. Grant’s Batman and Robin (and their Superman) are some of my favorites.
