JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot Mattel and Warner Bros. Will Make A Live-Action ‘Hot Wheels’ Movie For

JJ Abrams’ evil robot will shoot live-action ᲪHand wheels Mattel Films and Warner Bros.’s work on the film was announced today at Pictures.

Hot Wheels is Mattel’s 54-year-old toy car brand, called the world’s leading automobile franchise, representing and integrating all segments of automobile culture. Based on the beloved IP, the upcoming feature is described as a high-performance machine showcasing the world’s hottest and smoothest cars, monster trucks and motorcycles.

Hot Wheels is the world’s number one toy salesman, with more than 8 billion vehicles sold according to NPD Group/Retail Tracking Service. The brand has also proven its influence in automotive and pop culture over the years by collaborating with global leaders in automotive, streetwear, fashion, luxury, entertainment, gaming, action sports and motorsports. Mattel Films’ film project will be directed by Vice President Kevin McCain and Creative Director Andrew Scannel, with Peter Doddy Vice President of Production at Warner Bros. He will become the executive director of Pictures. Motion Pictures president Hannah Mingela will oversee Bad Robot, along with John Cohen.
