Gotham Awards Honoring Gina Prince-Bythewood, Listener Don Katz With Tribute

The Gotham Film & Media Institute started The Woman King The founder and executive chairman of filmmaker Gina Prince Bythewood and Audible, Inc. as the final honorary couple to be honored at the 32nd Annual Gotham Awards held live and in person at Cipriani Wall Street in NYC on November 28th.

Prince-Bythewood receives the Filmmaker tribute along with Katz for the Innovator tribute.

Prince-Bythewood is an award-winning writer, director and producer who was also recently named this year’s Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year winner by American Cinema Editors. She recently directed the war film from that period The Woman KingStarring Viola Davis and So Mbedu for Sony’s Tristar, which debuted at the Toronto Film Festival and was released in September.

The multi-pair functions used in the past include: Love & Basketball, The secret life of bees, Beyond the lights and The old guard. One of the upcoming projects is the Disney+ Original Limited series Genius: MLK/xWith Kelvin Harrison Jr. if Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. And Aaron Pierre as Malcolm X, which she produces with her husband Reggie Rock Bythewood for Undisputed Films.

From the beloved and polished classic “Love & Basketball” to this year’s smash hit “The Woman King,” Gina is a true source of inspiration and it is a great honor to name her as this year’s Filmmakers recipient. “

Since its launch in 1995, the Katz Audible has established itself as a leading producer and supplier of high-quality audio stories. The first portable digital audio player in 1997 – four years before the introduction of the iPod – was publicly traded on NASDAQ until its 2008 acquisition by Amazon and is now a subsidiary of Amazon.

Katz was recently recognized as a Business Visionary Honoree at the Pen America Literary Gala. He worked as a journalist and writer for two decades before founding Audible, and his work earned him a National Magazine Award, an Overseas Press Club Award, and the Chicago Tribune Heartland Prize for nonfiction, and ‘ A National Book Critics Circle Award nomination deserves and and and and and and one and and and and another recognition.

Recognized as one of the premier awards for independent film and television, the Gotham Awards provide early recognition for groundbreaking independent films and television series during the awards ceremony. Other honorable mentions for this year’s ceremony include Michelle Williams and Adam Sandler receiving artist tributes. Focus Features Chairman Peter Kujawski and Vice Chairman Jason Cassidy will be greeted with an industry tribute, and the Venice Film Festival will be presented with the Gotham Impact Salute.
