If it’s the end of July, you know that awards season is around the corner and the Makeup Artist and Hairstylist Guild Awards have revealed the key dates for the 2023 gala.
Guild President Julie Sokash announced today that the MUAHS 10th Anniversary Awards will be held on Friday 11 February at the Beverly Hilton. Applications will open on Wednesday 11 January. See all key dates below.
The MUAHS Awards honor the outstanding achievements of makeup artists and hairdressers in film, television, commercials and live theater.

Previously, one of the Guild winners (for Vintage Makeup / Hair, Contemporary Makeup / Hair, and Special Makeup Effects) has won the Oscar every year since the Modern MUAHS began in 2014.
The union, IATSE Local 706, which has more than 2,100 members worldwide, made history in the spring when it selected Karen Westerfield as its corporate representative. In the re-election of the officer, she defeated incumbent Randy Sayer by becoming the first female and first Asian American to hold the highest MUAHS position in its 85-year history.
