The actress and her supporters were deliberately vilified.

A discredited social media campaign was launched against Amber Heard. The investigators claim they found accounts posting negative hashtags targeting the actress.

This research was conducted by the independent organization Bot Sentinel. According to founder Christopher Busi, a total of 627 accounts were found. A quarter of that was made in the past seven months. They were all involved in compromising Amber Heard during the trial.

“There are different groups, but they all use the same tactics and it is clear that many are coordinated,” Busi said.

According to one of Amber Heard’s supporters, the nastiest insults rained down on her.

“What really amazes me is that leading tech companies aren’t doing enough to curb online harassment of women, even though they should be aware of what’s happening on their platforms. I suspect that such companies make a profit by selling advertisements. Unfortunately, bullying and insults are sold,” she told Insider.

In early June, a jury in Virginia found that Heard defamed Johnny Depp and charged him with domestic violence. The actor was awarded $10 million in damages and another $5 million in punitive damages. The fines were later reduced to $350,000.
