Police say the man, a 31-year-old valet, died while sitting in his car on the set of a Universal TV series in New York. Production stopped for a day.
The victim, whose family was not named, was reportedly sitting in a car in Greenpoint this morning when he was shot at around 5:15 am. He was taken to the hospital and died at 6:00 am ET. They have not yet been arrested.
“We were deeply saddened and shocked to learn that one of our crew members was the victim of a crime this morning and died as a result. We are working with the local police while the investigation continues. Our hearts go out to his family and friends and we ask that their privacy be respected during this time, ”a spokesperson for NBC and Universal Television said.
