The “Scarlet River” series with Amanda Saifred in the title role was released on the Peacock platform in March 2025 and immediately caught the attention of the public.
The story of a woman-detective of Mickey Fitzpatrick in a dysfunctional area of Philadelphia, which experiences the serious consequences of an opioid crisis, keeps all eight episodes in tension. In the final, the audience will finally find out who is behind a series of terrible murders.
Who turned out to be a murderer
The most important intrigues of the season was a series of dead of women from the poor region of Kensington. Everything was officially attributed to overdose, but Mickey, together with the former partner Truman, continued her own research.
The real murderer was the new partner of Mickey – Eddie Lafferti. He hid his involvement in drug trafficking and was of women who could hand it over. In an abandoned church, Mickey tried to stop him, but Casey and other girls who opened the fire appeared there. The last shot was made by Mickey himself – in memory of the field, another victim of Lafferti.

Personal life and mistakes
Although there was a romantic connection between Mickey and Truman, the end did not make them a chance to be together. Truman could not forgive that at one point Mickey suspected him of the murders and even dedicated him to weapons.
“You sent a gun to me. After that there was nothing to return,” he told her in the final.
The drama of the final was added to Mickey’s relationship with her sister Casey. The girl hid in their father, whom they considered the deceased for many years. Another secret was revealed: the son of Mickey, Thomas, turned out to be a child of Casey, born of Simon – the former Mickey and her mentor lover at the Academy. Because of the dependence on Casey, the child was born with a serious cancellation syndrome, and Mikki issued custody and decided that her sister could not handle it.
Fear of losing the child again, forced Casey to run again and to hide, but in the final she returns. The girl decides to combat dependence seriously and makes a healthy daughter, and the sisters finally start to restore relationships.
