Real Family is a platform
The history of 1971 is based on history, when Roger and Caroline Perron, together with five daughters, moved to the old farm in Rhizhnod. In the film, events unfold quickly, but in fact the family lived there until 1980. Over the years they have encountered a very spectrum of paranormal phenomena: from unpleasant scents and strange sound to poltergeists and spirits.
Andrea Perron’s oldest daughter later described this experience in the book “House of Darkness: House of Light”. She claimed that the spirits were different – from harmless and friendly to aggressive. The most terrible moment was the spiritualist session that was held with the participation of researchers from Ed and Lorrain Warrenov. According to Andrea, her mother spoke during the ritual with a strange voice in an incomprehensible language, her chair was in the air and then the woman threw it through the room.
Witch Batseba – True of Myth?
In the film, the most important angry spirit is the witch of Batrianus Sherman, who reportedly killed the child and cursed the earth. But historical studies have shown that the real Bathsheba, who lived in the 19th century, was hardly a murderer or sorceress.
According to Andrea Perron, the woman was simply “dumped for all evil,” and the real nature of the evil spirit in the house remained a mystery.

Ed and Lorrain Warrena became legends in the paranormal area. From the 1970s to the nineties, they participated in the research of the most controversial “mystical affairs”: from home in amitiville to “Poltergeist in Enfield.” It was they who told the world about the pop Annabel and even participated in the trial against Arne Johnson, claiming that he was obsessed with a demon.

Different family members saw what happened in different ways: his father, Roger, refused to believe for a long time that their house was cursed, but later admitted that he just did not want to admit his mistake.
In 2017, the youngest daughter died tragically from an overdose of painkillers after surgery. The oldest, Andrea Perron, is still actively involved in paranormal projects, writes books and regularly returns to the history of his youth. In 2021, part of the family even made a live broadcast from that house, in an attempt to “contact” with spirits again.
