The post -apocalyptic horror Danny Boyle “28 years later” had just left for the cinema, but was already able to collect $ 60 million from the world rent and 89% at Rotten Tomatoes.
The continuation of the cult “28 days later” and “28 weeks later” turned out to be much more spectacular than expected: gloomy, energetic and unexpectedly emotional in places.
The film opens a new trilogy and transfers action to the island of Lindyxfarn, where the surviving British try to survive away from the infected mainland. The main character is the 12-year-old Spike (Alfi Williams), who lives with his parents (Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jody Comer). At one point he decides to go to the mainland to save his family, and is confronted with the consequences of the epidemic face to face.
When should you wait for online release

So far, “28 years later”, you can only look in the cinema – it came out on June 20. The digital premiere has not yet been announced, but with a big chance the film will first appear on paid digital sites such as Apple TV and Google Play (PVOD) and then will fall on Netflix.
Sony, who has released the film, usually adheres to the schedule: first 3-4 months exclusively in the cinema and on PVOD, then the release on streaming. According to the same model, “Craven-Hotel” and “Venom 3” were released in 2024. Given this, “28 years later” can appear on Netflix in September or October.
The official date of the streaming release has not yet been confirmed, but if you focus on the previous Sony releases, it is not that long to wait. And of course we all know that as soon as the film falls on paid digital sites, the pirate versions “28 years later” will be immediately on the network.
