Marvel has not been able to give birth to Blade for the fifth year, and the screenwriter of the original trilogy simply does not understand what is wrong with them.
Five years have elapsed since Marvel announced a new film about Blade – and during this time the project did not move from a dead point. Various scenario writers changed, at least two directors left, the production was laid, launched it again and in 2025 the development was completely paused.
Against this background, David S. Goyer expressed – a man who wrote scripts to all three films of the original trilogy with Wesley Snips. In the podcasta Happy Trieste confusion, he admitted that he does not understand what Marvel could not share in any way:
“Blade is a simple story. It should not be complicated. It should be a lot of action, a little fear, there can be an assessment r and no extra complications.”
Goyer is of course not just a third party alarm. Before he worked with Christopher Nolan on Batman: the beginning, he wrote all parts of Blade, and he also deducted the third. But despite his experience, it is impossible to say that the trilogy was perfect. All three films were given a rotten rating on rotten tomatoes. The first is 59%, the second part of Del Toro is 57%, and the last “Blade 3: Trinity”, which Goyer removed himself, failed on all fronts: 24% of critics and 58% of the audience.
Nevertheless, all three films were commercially successful, and it was with them that the era of the Superheroes cinema began before the appearance of MCU.
Regarding the new knife, while the public can only take the version with Wesley Snipce. Marvel has long promoted the restarting with Mahershal Ali in the title role, and to judge the early comments of the actors, the idea of the project was interesting. But the deadlines are torn again, the script is rewritten, the directors go one by one and the studio does not mention new dates.
Against the background of the approaching “Avengers: Judgement Day” and “Secret Wars”, it becomes less clear whether Blade has the chance to get into this version of the cinema -Combat.
