The American Screenant Portal has compiled a list with excellent series, which never wants to judge anyone.
This does not mean that they are bad – on the contrary, each of them received high marks and recognition from critics. Just returning to them a second time is morally difficult, tiring or just useless, because the viewer already knows all the plot twists. For example, the “House of Cards”, “Last Kingdom”, “Midnight Mass”, “The World of the Wild West” and even the animated “Kingdom of Padal” were included in the list. But in the first place the authors set the drama ‘Meyr from Easttown’.
The HBO mini series was released in 2021 and immediately became an event. Kate Winslet played a provincial woman-detective named Meyr, who performs the case of the murder of a young girl and the disappearance of another. Jean Smart, Julianna Nicholson, Evan Peters and Guy Pierce – in the second roles. Seven nominations for Emmy, three victories, enthusiastic reviews and hundreds of praising reviews.
Russian spectators also appreciated the series: At the Kinopoisk the Mair of Isttown costs 8.2 out of 10.

But despite all this love, almost nobody wants to revise the Meyr from Easttown. The reason is simple: the series is built as a slow, choice of vision detective with strong psychological stress. The most important intrigues works only once and the second view changes into pure suffering – you already know how it will end, but at the same time you live all the dramas of the heroes again.
As summarized in Screenant, this is a really excellent television project. But once – more than enough.
